Shapes London doesn’t own, sell or sublicense any font.
Every font in our brand builder and on this site is free and open source, owned by its designers and licensed to everyone under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. When you buy a kit from us, you pay for the design work. You don’t buy, and we don’t transfer, any font licence. You use the fonts free of charge, directly under their open licence.
What the licence lets you do
- Use the fonts for free, including commercially
- Use them in your logo, website, packaging, signage and print
- Embed them in websites and apps
- Share the font files with your team, printer or developer, along with the licence
What it doesn’t allow
- Selling a font file on its own
- Releasing a modified font under its original (reserved) name
- Claiming you own or designed the font itself
- Removing the licence and copyright notices from the font files

Self-hosted: every font is served from this site, never from a third-party font service, so loading a page shares no visitor data with anyone. Each font’s full licence text is linked in the tables above and included in every kit download.
Licences were checked against the official Google Fonts repository (github.com/google/fonts, “ofl” folder) on 3 October 2026. The full licence text is at openfontlicense.org. Your logo artwork is yours to use. If you plan to register a logo as a trademark, take advice from a trademark lawyer: a word set in an open-source font may not be distinctive enough on its own.
